I have spent the past 3 hours reading through all 60+ pages of this, including the earlier thread regarding the article on EN24. Of course, this left me wanting to put my 2 cents in the pile as well. Enjoy:
I understand the move CCP has made to RMT operations and don't have problem with it. I will never waste my money on what I feel to be overpriced vanity items, but as a company you're free to offer them to those who might. I do, however, share the opinions here based on the leaked document when it comes to the abilty to purchase game changing items/features (ammo, ships, implants...).
My biggest concern in this is the lack and delay in CCP's response, including the banning of a community member. An internal communication was leaked that, regardless of anything else, sparked an immediate hostile response from a large number of members that was absent even a general response. The community has a right to feel a little abused by this. This action has the attitude, in my opinion, of CCP (the creator of the interweb spaceships we all love) hoping this would blow over and we would forget wih the new shiny stuff you have given us this week; allowing this to be brushed under the rug. I truly doubt this was the intended affect, but it is still insulting and a reflection of the animosity between the developers and community that exists today. No one needs to be fired, no heads need to be delivered on platters, but it shouldn't take a wild fire like this to illicit responses that make people feel like they are being heard.
I can say for myself: my subscriptions will be staying. I still enjoy the game, and will continue to be a paying subscriber until that changes. I just hope the events of this past week aren't signs that my final days on Eve are approaching.
Good night, and good luck with this mess.
